Character Education
We are so fortunate at Holly Springs to have a PTA that is committed to helping us reinforce our Character Education K-5 curriculum. Together, we invite you to participate in these character-building programs.
1. CHARACTER REWARDS: Each month you receive information about the character trait of the month (see Monthly Character Traits ), sent home in Friday Folders. Students who return the forms, completed by their parents, receive certificates to help their classroom earn cheetah spots or a treat from one of our local Holly Springs businesses.
2. SHOW YOUR CHARACTER : Patrols and safety volunteers in the halls give out cheetah paw stickers to students who display the character trait of the month.
3. CHARACTER CONVERSATIONS : A PTA volunteer shares a 45-minute lesson about the character trait of the month. These lessons are conducted in the classroom from August through April.
4. CHARACTER COLOR DAY : The third Wednesday of each month is CHARACTER COLOR DAY. On that day we encourage everyone to wear the color representing the character trait of the month. See Monthly Character Traits for each month's color. Character Trading Cards are also distributed on that day highlighting someone from our community who displays our character trait of the month
The Character Education Committee meets once a month. If you have ideas or suggestions, please contact our school counselor, Mary Jane Koch at 557-2660.
