Character Education
We are so fortunate at Holly Springs to have a PTA that is committed to helping us reinforce our Character Education K-5 curriculum. The Character Education committee has planned to continue and expand our character building programs that they sponsored last year. We invite you to participate in:
1. CHARACTER REWARDS: Each month you will get information about the character trait of the month (see Monthly Character Traits) sent home in Friday Folders. Students who return the forms, completed by their parents, will receive gift certificates from Cary Towne Center. In addition, the class returning the most certificates each month will get a treat.
2. CHARACTER.COM: Patrols and safety volunteers in the halls will give out "dots" (stickers) to students who display the character trait of the month.
3. CHARACTER CONVERSATIONS: A PTA volunteer will go to each classroom for a 45 minute period each month to present a lesson dealing with the character trait of the month. Lessons will begin in October.
4. CHARACTER COLOR DAY: The third Wednesday of each month will be a CHARACTER COLOR DAY. On that day we will encourage everyone to wear the color representing the character trait of the month. Please try to remind your child/ren. See Monthly Character Traits for each month's color. The Character Ed. Committee will meet once a month. If you have ideas or suggestions, please contact our school counselor, Kathy Davis (557-2660).
